Grey knights Holy hammers of the emperor...

So I did my due diligence and found the leaked Grey knights codex.....all I have to say is some armies are going to be annihilated by Grey knights and others are going to walk all over them...

Nemesis Dread knights are going to be a headache for every one especially considering they are super cheap for a model that is that powerful and resilient..

The Grey knights them selves seem a little bit lack luster as they are little more then standard marines that cost a load more points to make them not standard marines...

There are what look to be almost 15 different HQ choices which makes my head hurt however, Lord Kaldor Draigo despite being 275 points can bring the hurt like only Abbadon can...


The whole Grey Knight side of the army is all psykers and they are fairly reliant on using those powers, armies that can bring anti psyker wargear will really cripple any GK list..YMMV

All in all I actually give GW a 8 out of 10 on this codex it is powerful without the OMFG WHAT!!!!!!! that some of the others list last year have had. The units seem really well thought out and to an extent balanced towards where they seem to be taking the game. My only complaint is they really seemed to have forgotten about or neglected at best the standard Grey knights. A great deal of focus was put on the terminators and Inquisitorial stuff which is cool I like that the codex features two viable armies or a combined arms force but a little more focus on the core units would have been cool.

Keep in mind these are only my initial impressions and a lot more theory hammer and math hammer has to be done to see if I am pissing into the wind so to speak.

Well back to it.

well it is a new dex, and they have only been geting better. But i want to see how they can fit there points into bringing what they need to the table. i am not to scard of this one from what i have heard, maybe that will change when the book is out. sounds like they will full points fast.

As a side note Kaldor Draigo has the option to give him helmet!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am super happy to know that the Grey Knights have a Leader that smart enough to wear his power armor.

Love those dudes, every one. But what up with the orange monkey? I read it in the dex but when the hell did that thing show up in the fluff?

Apparently, 2nd edition. Why the anti-xenos inquisition uses them is beyond me. Ooooo oooo.

The Imperium is so contradictory, Burn the heretic. Kill the mutant. Purge the unclean, but not the ogryns, or the rattlings, or the psykers, or the navigaters, these orange monkey things are totaly off limits, ignore the space marines entirely, the eldar are OK if they are currently helping us, dont piss off the tau, and when the necrons show up try and get their tech. But yea purge and stuff.
