CrimsonWraith's Malifaux Seamus WIP

Well, the Viktorias' starting crew is done, now its on to Seamus.

That's right, more terrible pics. Why is everything BEHIND them so clear. Ah, well.
They should be primed tomorrow, providing the weather clear for any little bit. The parasol in the front is unattached, because it blocks most of that models back. They have gravel bases, with a couple tombstones and a half buried skull on Sybelle's base. I'll add grass later. Hoping for a graveyard theme. The clothes will be varied dresses, with Seamus's likely being green. For Sybelle, I may try for some shiny black leather. The Belles will have a greenish, hopefully sickly skin tone, while Seamus will have a more rich, lively skin tone.
At least that's the plan.

What kind of camera are you using, and how far away from the models are you holding it when you snap pics? Part of your focus issue is that you aren't photographing on a white gradient. Which reminds me...I think I'll write an article about photographing minis!

Heh. My phone, but also a Digigr8 camaera(not so gr8).
My mom has a photo booth and a nice camera that I will be using when I get around to it for final pictures, especially the ones I send to Wyrd. These are mostly quick and dirties to show I am making progress. For a good look, I guess everyone will have to show up on Saturdays.

Well, I have mostly finished my first Rotten Belle. I will pry go back and add some dirt to the bottom of her dress, but otherwise she is finished. I also managed to get at least halfway decent pics this time, so here she is:


So, still not perfect, but least now you have some idea of what you're looking at.

They are starting to look really good. I cant wait untill they are finished. That would make two painted crews for Malifaux. I just might consider playing another game.

Their ...ummm..."tracts of land"...are remarkably ...ummm...healthy for them being so dead. If I was a zombie my perfect bosoms would be ruined.

Undead or not, a lady has to take care of her assets.

Nice, like the vivid pink color. So what is Malifaux anyway? Like a character based RPG/tabletop hybrid? I'm assuming your heroes don't die off as fast as troops in warhammer etc.

The idea of painting less to play and get started is appealing, especially since you wouldn't have to spend a frigging fortune.

It's a character driven skirmish game. It uses cards instead of dice. You can also Cheat Fate and use cards from your hand to improve you luck. It usually takes around an hour or two to play a game, with it being closer to an hour with experience. It's fast, fun, and cheap to get into, with a standard crew averaging around $30 retail, the rule book being available for free via PDF, and a deck of cards(which aren't needed, a regular playing deck can be used, but I recommend the Malifaux Deck) costing $7.25.

Catch me any time I am there, I always have my models, and love demoing games(I have 2 crews and decks). Though the next few weeks will be tight, with Apoc, Gator Con, and then the Denver Painting group thing.
