WIP of Griffin rider

So here is the first Griffin rider of two. Obviously he is still a work in progress but this is what we've got so far. The bird half is based off of a Barn Owl, and I am torn between the cat end being either a white tiger or maybe a clouded leopard. Thoughts?

well the photos are a little rough, but it looks really good so far. The colors in the bird are very close to your source material. I worry that your paint is too thick however. I'll have a look when I see you guys

Got him nearly finished now. All I have left are the wings






The flag is actually purple it just looks blue in the picture... It is based of the Illidari Tabard in World of Warcraft. I will have the wings finished by tomorrow. I have to work six to midnight..... lame. But we can show up a little early and I will just leave Jake there til midnight so he at least can earn some points.

It is DONE! And it only took me..... five? days.....

I am quite pleased with it. We have another griffin just like this one, thanks to the gracious Nate, and I shall be painting it the opposite of this one; black barn owl and black tiger. Not entirely sure how I want to handle the rider of the next one though. We have come up with a story that they are twins, and I kind of want to convert the other rider to be a woman. Any suggestions would be welcome.

Looks good, I like how you did the Griffon. It may just be not showing in the picture, but you should paint the Griffon's eyes.

You seriously can't see them?.... the colours in the pictures are a little off but yeah, the eyes have black, brown highlight and white reflection... like a barn owls eyes.

Fair enough. I don't think I could have kept the barn owl theme, I would have felt the need to give it more visible irises

Looks Great! all of the bird bits look awesome as well as the rider. My only sugestion is that you should make the back halfs orange darker because it looks half finished atm. Could just be the pictures though.

Ok never mind then from the first picture you have the model on top of a normal tigar so i thought thats what you were going for i should read more instead of looking at the pretty pictures alone.
