Forcing a Warbeast Question(s) Empty
PostSubject: Forcing a Warbeast Question(s)   Forcing a Warbeast Question(s) EmptyMon Sep 03, 2012 7:37 am

I wanted to make sure that I had an understanding of what forcing a warbeast meant as the rules are a tad vague to me. I'm assuming that forcing a warbeast is basically issuing it an order or command, right? With that being said, the rules stated that a warbeast can be forced multiple times during its activation, and everytime it's force it creates fury for itself. Now, I'm sure the answer is no, but can you perform an attack with your warbeast, generate fury, buy an additional attack(generate fury?), etc, wash, rinse, repeat? Basically, are you able to perpetually generate fury and attack with just 1 warbeast?

That would be a no due to warbeasts not actually using fury to generate attacks. When they make an extra attack they generate more fury not use what they have on them. Up to the max fury limit that is stated on their cards. So instead of like in Warmachine where you have to allocate focus for warmachines to use their special abilities and whatnot Warbeasts do the opposite and generate their Resource that is then used by the Warlock.

Hope that made sense.

I believe so; due to the phase/leaching restriction, it wouldn't be possible to have that constant chain of actions going on. Thank you!

Keep In mind also that if you max out on fury you can not transfer the damage to the war beast. So say that you run all of your beast hot on a turn and Really mess up there line and kill the majority of there heavy and like jacks/warbeasts but all your beasts are maxed out on fury. They can then proceed to through everything they have left at your warlock and you are unable to transfer the damage or mitigate them at all. This is one of the many risks vs rewards that the fury mechanic has over the resource management that Focus has.

Force- Warbeasts have to be forced for a wide variety of tasks, all very potent combat abilities. A warbeast must be in its Warlock's control area to be forced (unless a special rule states otherwise). Forcing a Warbeast causes it to generate 1 fury point (except in the case of Animi with a COST of more than 1).

Run - Warbeasts must be forced to run.
Charge - Warbeasts must be forced to charge.
Shake Effect - See above.
Additional Attack - See above.
Boost - See above.
Animus - A animus is a little spell that a warbeast can be forced to cast. The amount of fury generated in casting is equal to its COST. Animi are much like upkeep spells in that they cannot be stacked with one another; one friendly and one enemy animus per model.
Power Attack - Power Attacks are a variety of special attacks which require a focus point to use. They are available to all warjacks, unless a special rule states otherwise.

-Thank you, Battle College!
