Two Questions: First, is there a Rubric/portion of the tournament scoring determined by army composition: (ie you better have 50% of your army as Troop choices and less than 5% of pts spent on war gear or you get dinged?)
Second: in army composition with an allied detachment, I wanted to make sure I'm reading the 6th ed book correctly. One can bring 2HQ, 6Troop, 3FA, 3HS, 3EL form they own army book and then (hypothetically) 1 HQ, 2Troop, 1FA, 1EL, 1HS form an allied detachment. So, one can feasibly bring 3HQ (2 from the regular army and 1 from the detachment) and 4 HS, EL, or FA choices (3 of which would be form the regular army and 1 of which could be allied.) This is the way I read the 6th Ed rule book and it seems pretty self explanatory. The question arrises from the new 6th ed update to Army Builder which (very neatly) allows for allied detachments but keeps the caps on force organization as per the normal army list restrictions. (ie if I have 3 HQ, 2 from my regular army and form the requirement for the detachment of allies) the validation alert goes off because I have 3 HQ and am over the limit of 2.
Before everyone freaks out: YES, I KNOW ARMY BUILDER IS OFTEN SCREWY WITH THINGS OF THIS NATURE AND IN NO WAY REPRESENTS AN ACCURATE DEPICTION OF GW RULES, SPECIAL RULES, FORCE ORGANIZATION, ETC. It just got me wondering and so I thought I'd make sure I (and everyone else) had read the rules for detachments correctly
