| So...does this seem to anyone else like a measured, purposeful attempt at game balance by GW? Lemme splain...
So in Magic the Gathering, on rare occasions in the past, specifically "Necro Summer" of legend, Wizards of the Coast has banned cards or radically altered the format for play when a card or set/interaction of several cards creates massive game imbalance. I know I may be getting ahead of myself here and giving the Biscuits, Beer, and Dice guys across the pond a little too much credit, but it seems like moving GTs to 2,000 is an attempt to balance the "Year of the Wolf" as I'm calling it. (tm). Anyone else have any thoughts on this? Does it work? Or do Space Puppies just get more powerful at 2,000...?

| I think Space Wolves and IG both get more powerful with the points increase. Armies like Tau get weaker. I don't honestly understand the thought process behind the move.

| Well My Space Puppies are at 2000, But really I haven't seen them get stronger because of the point boost. I think it really comes down to how you set-up your army, considering I've seen a very threatening Tau army at 2000 points as well as Dark Eldars and CSM armies | |

| I haven't been back in it long, but it seems like CSM is solid at 1850. Above that and its just more filler/upgrades but no real strong boost. | |

| Do your CSM really even need that boost? they're pretty tough to begin with | |

| My CSM list is pretty strong at 1850 or 2000. The problem with Tau is slots. A Tau player can easily use all but his troop slots at 1500; 1850 is just more troops; 2000 is just bulking out units. 'Ard Boys is just over kill. The problem isn't that some armies get stronger, as much as, some armies just end up getting diluted. My current CSM build tops out at 2075 points, then I am just diluting strength. Games Workshop has always said that the balance is at 1500, and I could believe it. As points drop, my Tau become monsters, as they raise, well... I mostly just get made fun of for fielding them. I don't know if it is a bad move, it is just an odd one. | |

| Oh, I'm not hurting at 2000 or anything, just saying that a CSM tourny build really doesn't gain much of anything with the extra points. 1850 gets what it needs. | |

| I think it all depends on how you build your army whether it is a 2000 point or 1500. In my opinion more points just gives many people more options for your armies. You can make it even better or just down right sloppy but it really all goes down to how you balance your army. | |

I kind of agree with his statement. I have been in many tournaments with my armies and I dont mind 1850. In my opinion it is just the right amount to create a good army, 2000 I think is a little big for tournys.

| I think we should move the game back down to 1500 points I feel all the armies are more balance and there is more diversity in list builds then at 1850 or 2000 points. With alot of armies at 1850 and 2000 points they all start to look the same because you have enough points to get everything you want into that list. Like 3 heavys 3 fast attacks and 5 troops ect. But at 1500 points you have to chose what you want to take and thus the broken lists become less broken because they cant spam as well ect. I feel its much more balanced at 1500 points then 1850 or 2000. But thats just me. | |
